Reinforcing its commitment to environmental sustainability, the National Cancer Institute (NCI), Nagpur, has established a Captive Solar Power Plant—its own dedicated clean energy source. The plant is spread across 15 acres of land near Dahegaon in Wardha district.
With an installed capacity of 3 MW, the solar facility comprises 4,919 high-efficiency solar panels (610 kWp modules) and is supported by 10 inverters. It is a ground-mounted, grid-connected photovoltaic (PV) power plant, located at a scenic site along the Wardha–Dahegaon–Pulgaon road.
This initiative has been supported under the CSR programme of the ICICI Foundation. The plant is operated by MahaPreit, a Government of Maharashtra agency. Tata Power Solar executed the project in collaboration with Ananya Tyre and Solar Enterprises, while Green Life Solutions served as the consultant.
Ahead of its commissioning next month, a team led by Shri Shailesh Joglekar, General Secretary and CEO of the National Cancer Institute, visited the site to inaugurate the plant’s branding.
Shri Vijay Mahulkar, CGM of MahaPreit, Shri Raju Pawar, Head of ICICI Foundation Nagpur Division, Shri Akhilesh Mohod of ICICI Foundation, Shri Amit Deotale, Director of Green Life Solutions, Shri Sagar Dhere of Ananya Solar, Shri Mangesh Dumbare, GM-Project, NCI, Dr Medha Dixit, GM-HR & Corporate Affairs, NCI, Col.
