Department Of Surgical Oncology
The department of Surgical Oncology at NCI has seven full time surgical oncologists including one full time Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon, four major operation theatres, frozen section, 12 bedded surgical intensive care unit, 39 no of indoor beds for surgical patients, Five consulting rooms.
Surgical Oncology division is divided further based on body region, head neck, gynaecological oncology, bone and soft tissue, thorax, abdomen and breast.
Complex cancer surgeries including minimal access cancer surgeries, HIPEC, children cancer surgeries are done on a regular basis. Refer to patient statistics of surgical oncology department.
Academic programs include MUHS recognized fellowship, FHNO fellowship in head neck oncology, observership.
This department is recognized to serve bonds for MS general surgery, MS ENT and M.Ch. surgical oncology
NBE has accredited surgical oncology department for 2 DNB surgical oncology seats per academic years.
