National Cancer Institute (NCI), Nagpur, is very pleased to announce that our Medical Director, Dr Anand Pathak, was honoured with the ‘Lifetime Achievement Award in Medical Oncology’ at the first Central India Hemato-Onco Update Conference held in Nagpur on October 4-5.
One of the founding members of NCI, Dr Pathak is a pioneer in Central India’s Medical Oncology. NCI’ team of Medical Oncologists Dr Sameer Shrirangwar and Dr Murtaza Bohra, and NCI’s HoD of Laboratory Medicine, Dr Radhika Pagey received the award on Dr Pathak’s behalf. Noted Medical Oncologist from Mumbai, Dr Boman Dhabhar, was present on the occasion, and spoke highly of Dr Pathak’s dedication and hard work. Dr Dhabhar recalled his association with Dr Pathak at Mumbai’s Tata Memorial Hospital.
The prestigious honour recognises Dr Pathak’s missionary zeal and dedication for cancer care. Dr Pathak has been leading NCI’s clinical team since the institute's inception. He has worked closely with Maharashtra CM and NCI’s Chief Patron, Shri Devendra Fadnavis, and NCI’s General Secretary and CEO, Shri Shailesh Joglekar, to build a world class NCI under the aegis of a charitable trust Dr Aabaji Thatte Seva Aur Anusandhan Sanstha.
