India’s High Commissioner To Guyana, Dr Telang Promises To Expand NCI’s Global Outreach

High Commissioner of India to Guyana, Antigua & Barbuda and St.Kitts & Nevis, and Ambassador of India to the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), Dr Amit Telang, and his wife Dr Deepali Telang, visited the National Cancer Institute (NCI), Nagpur, on Friday. Delighted to know that NCI offered state-of-the-art, affordable and quality cancer care to the people across India, Dr Telang said he would like to contribute to expand NCI’s outreach to the international patients who required affordable care that NCI provided. Dr. Amit Telang is an officer of Indian Foreign Service (IFS) of 2005 batch.

He is a Graduate and Post Graduate from Government Medical College (GMC), Nagpur. He briefly served as a Medical Officer and Lecturer before joining the IFS. Dr Telang’s previous assignments include Head of Political Wing in Embassy of India, Berlin; Head of Economic & Commercial Wing in Embassy of India, Moscow; and as Consul General of India, Frankfurt. At the Ministry of External Affairs in New Delhi, he has served in External Publicity,

Administration and East Asia Divisions. It was a homecoming for Dr Telang as he warmly met at NCI his classmates, seniors and juniors from his alma mater, GMC. Shri Shailesh Joglekar, NCI’s General Secretary and CEO, welcomed Dr Telang and Dr Deepali, and briefed them about the making of the world class institute, its vision and mission.
